Fulham head coach Marco Silva has provided a positive update on the fitness of Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi ahead of\u00a0their clash with Wolves this weekend,\u00a0Soccernet.ng<\/u><\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Iwobi has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury during Fulham\u2019s goalless draw against Brentford last month.\u00a0The 29-year-old started the game but was forced off in the first half<\/u><\/a>\u00a0after pulling up injured and was replaced by fellow Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze.<\/p>\n

Fulham have struggled for consistency\u00a0since his absence,\u00a0picking up just three points from their last three league matches as their hopes of qualifying for European competition continue to fade with only two games remaining this season.<\/p>\n

Before his recent injury setback, Iwobi, who has been a central figure in Silva\u2019s system, had already made 27 appearances for the Cottagers this season. The 30-year-old only missed a few\u00a0matches during Nigeria\u2019s campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where\u00a0he helped the\u00a0Super Eagle\u00a0to bronze medal.<\/p>\n

Fulham\u00a0have won their last two games against Wolves and will travel to Molineux on Sunday looking to end a two-game losing streak and revive their slim hopes of an European finish in the league this season.<\/p>\n

Super Eagles midfielder Alex\u00a0Iwobi could be available again for the encounter, although it remains unclear whether he will be fit enough to start or if he will make an appearance from the bench.<\/p>\n

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday,\u00a0Marco\u00a0Silva confirmed that the Nigerian midfielder has resumed training and is back in contention for the trip to Wolves.<\/p>\n

Silva then went on to praise the qualities of the Nigerian midfielder\u00a0and expressed delight on his potential return to the match-day squad.<\/p>\n

Iwobi\u2019s\u00a0possible\u00a0return\u00a0to action\u00a0will come as a major boost for Fulham given his influence in midfield and the impact his absence has had on the team\u00a0over the last few weeks.<\/p>\n

The Super Eagles\u00a0playmaker\u00a0will now hope to help\u00a0the Cottagers\u00a0finish the campaign on a strong note. While European qualification appears unlikely after consecutive defeats, Silva\u2019s side will still be eyeing a top half finish when they face Wolves, before welcoming Newcastle United to Craven Cottage in their final match of the campaign.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
