Photo: LinkedIn\/ Sarah Abereola<br \/> Source: UGC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Decision to wait<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sarah explained that after graduating secondary school in 2018, she was ready to accept any admission offered to her by an institution.<\/p>\n<p>However, she met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legit.ng\/people\/\">people<\/a> who advised her to &#8220;pause&#8221; and try again for the course she truly desired.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah said in her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/sarah-abereola_nursing-graduate-leadership-ugcPost-7456410183632662528-qCR0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">LinkedIn post<\/a>: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I listened. I retook JAMB, and I got into the University of Ibadan to study Nursing, the course I truly wanted.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Life as a UI student<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The new nurse noted that the journey was not easy, as the clinical postings and lectures stretched her capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the academic pressure, she started a footwear <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legit.ng\/business-economy\/\">business<\/a> to support herself and solve a need for students.<\/p>\n<p>She also held several leadership positions, including serving as a member of the UI Student Representative Council (SRC) and leading a fellowship of over 100 ladies.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Choosing a path<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sarah, who graduated with Second Class Honors (Upper Division), stated that she does not want to practice nursing in a conventional way.<\/p>\n<p>She expressed a strong interest in community health systems and advocacy for vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah said: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;On the 29th of April, I was inducted as a nurse.
