The Federal Government of Nigeria has summoned South
\nAfrica\u2019s Acting High Commissioner following a wave of anti-foreigner protests
\nand reported attacks targeting Nigerians and their businesses in the country.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Saturday by the spokesperson of the
\nMinistry of Foreign Affairs Nigeria, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the government
\nconfirmed that the South African envoy has been invited for a high-level
\nmeeting scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Ministry\u2019s headquarters in
\nAbuja.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

According to the statement, the meeting is intended to
\nformally communicate Nigeria\u2019s \u201cprofound concern\u201d over recent developments in
\nSouth Africa, which authorities say could strain the long-standing diplomatic
