Brady Ebert, a foundational figure in the Grammy Award-winning band Turnstile, has been arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder.<\/p>\n

According to police records accessed by the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old guitarist was apprehended on Tuesday, March 31, in Montgomery County, Maryland.<\/p>\n

Beyond the attempted murder charge, Ebert faces an additional count of assault in connection with an incident that occurred on Sunday, March 29.<\/p>\n

Ebert appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday, April 1, and is currently being held without the option of bail.<\/p>\n

Ebert was instrumental in forming the Baltimore-based hardcore punk band Turnstile in 2010. He departed from the group in 2022, just as they were gaining widespread recognition. Earlier this year, Turnstile celebrated winning their first two Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n

The guitarist has worried fans with his social media behavior in recent months and was even kicked out of his new band The S.E.T. weeks before the release of their debut album Self Evident Truth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Back in February The S.E.T. took to Instagram to announce: \u2018Brady is no longer a member of THE S.E.T.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018We will not stand by his ridiculous comments and behavior toward the members of our band and our community. We will continue to put on for Baltimore hardcore and thank everyone for their support.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before that Ebert had posted several inflammatory statements about his former band Turnstile on social media even going as far as dropping major claims against individual members.<\/p>\n

The most notable was when he had accused his former band of misusing funds from a charity show when he was still part of it.<\/p>\n

Turnstile had posted a graphic reading \u2018abolish ICE,\u2019 in reference to US federal law enforcement agency U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which was then reposted by journalist Jesea Lee.<\/p>\n

\u2018No one in Turnstile cares at all about ethics or social issues in general, Ebert replied to Lee as claimed his former band were \u2018just pandering to their audience.\u2019<\/p>\n

He went on to claim that frontman Brendan Yates had stole money from the charity gig which claimed \u2018all proceeds go to healthcare for the homeless.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ebert and Yates \u2013 who is also the drummer of Trapped Under Ice \u2013 originally formed the band over a decade-and-a-half ago with Franz Lyons, Daniel Fang, and Sean Cullen.\u00a0In 2015, Cullen was replaced by Pat McCrory of another Baltimore band called Angel Du$t.<\/p>\n

According to police records obtained by the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old guitarist (pictured in Chicago in September 2019) was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 31 in Montgomery County, Maryland\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In addition to the attempted murder claim, the musician (pictured in London back in December 2015) was also charged with one count of assault in relation to an incident on Sunday, March 29<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ebert was credited as an essential part of Turnstile\u2019s sound as his guitar rifts set the tone for the act especially in the early days which was louder and more aggressive.<\/p>\n

Back in August 2022, Turnstile announced: \u2018Turnstile and Brady Ebert are parting ways. We are deeply grateful for our time together. Our love for him continues and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

He was later permanently replaced by British musician Meg Mills.<\/p>\n

Turnstile has reached plenty of success since Ebert\u2019s departure as they earned Best Metal Performance for their song Birds and Best Rock Album for Never Enough at the Grammy Awards in February.<\/p>\n

Never Enough was a critical and commercial success for the band as it was a constant on several \u2018best of 2025\u2019 lists in addition to peaking at No. 9 on the US Billboard 200.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
