No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont has revealed he\u2019s been diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n

The 58-year-old musician is best known for being part of the American rock band<\/a> since its formation in 1986 \u2013 with the line-up also including Gwen Stefani<\/a>, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young.<\/p>\n

However, at the weekend Tom shared a health<\/a> update on social media<\/a> in which he detailed his recent diagnosis.<\/p>\n

In a video posted on Instagram<\/a>, he explained that he initially started experiencing symptoms \u2018a number of years ago\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, and I did a whole bunch of tests, and I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson\u2019s disease,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n

He then went on to share that whilst he has been facing difficulties, he is still able to play music.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s been a struggle. It\u2019s a struggle every day,\u2019 he continued. \u2018And I\u2019ll make another video with details about what Parkinson\u2019s entails. The good news is, I can still play music. I can still play guitar. I\u2019ve been doing really well.\u2019<\/p>\n

The musician then said he decided to share his diagnosis publicly after being \u2018very inspired\u2019 by others who had done the same.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think it helps erase some of the stigma and it raises awareness, obviously, and awareness is really important for prevention and for research,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n

Last year No Doubt announced they were reuniting for their first shows in 14 years \u2013 with the band set to play 18 gigs at the Sphere in Las Vegas from May 6 to June 13.<\/p>\n

Addressing the upcoming shows, Tom confirmed that he was still set to join his bandmates on stage.<\/p>\n

\u2018The last couple of months, getting ready for the No Doubt Sphere shows, it\u2019s been very fun,\u2019 he told fans.<\/p>\n

\u2018Looking through old footage and looking at old photographs and relearning old songs and rehearsing and creating all the video stuff for the screens at the Sphere, it\u2019s kind of made me think about how grateful I am for the life I\u2019ve gotten to lead as a musician all these years. You know?<\/p>\n

\u2018And it\u2019s thanks to our families and our friends and listeners, and you and everyone who\u2019s come to our shows over the years. Thank you. I\u2019m really excited about the shows. I can\u2019t wait to see everybody. And thank you for listening.\u2019<\/p>\n

Soon after the video was uploaded, Tom was flooded with supportive messages. They included ones from his bandmates including drummer Adrian, who wrote: \u2018My friend, bandmate, and hero\u2026I love you brother.\u2019<\/p>\n
