These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>interest rate cap<\/strong> on consumer loans<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>margin cap<\/strong> on selected food and drugstore products<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>regulated fuel price system<\/strong> and related tax reductions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Previously, these measures were set to expire in the coming weeks or months. By removing their time limits, the outgoing cabinet has ensured continuity until the new government formally takes office, while leaving the long-term strategy in its hands.<\/p>\n<h2>Incoming government signals cautious phase-out<\/h2>\n<p>The move aligns with earlier statements from the incoming Tisza government. Its expected finance minister, Andr\u00e1s K\u00e1rm\u00e1n, has indicated that price caps, particularly margin controls, will be maintained in the short term to avoid a spike in inflation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penzcentrum.hu\/gazdasag\/20260418\/itt-a-rendelet-orbanek-a-tisza-kezebe-adtak-a-gyeplot-eddig-marad-a-kamatstop-arresstop-es-a-hatosagi-uzemanyagar-1197165\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">according to P\u00e9nzcentrum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with current plans, these measures would only be phased out gradually, following a pre-announced schedule designed to minimise market shocks.<\/p>\n<h2>Fuel prices and taxes also extended<\/h2>\n<p>Fuel pricing remains a particularly sensitive issue. Following talks between P\u00e9ter Magyar and Zsolt Hern\u00e1di, CEO of MOL Group, it was confirmed that the regulated fuel price will stay in place for now.<\/p>\n<p>The outgoing government also accepted a request to extend the reduced excise duty on fuel, originally due to expire at the end of April, until at least 30 May.
