Liverpool are interested in signing Netherlands international central defender Micky van de Ven from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke said on the Transfer Insider podcast: \u201cA bit similar to Fernandes and West Ham, if Spurs were to go down it will be almost inevitable that Van de Ven would move on.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s been a lot of speculation linking him with a move away from Tottenham. He\u2019s obviously put contract talks on the back burner as well.<\/p>\n \u201cSpurs earlier in season were looking to tie him down to a new deal, but it seems that Van de Ven is waiting and mulling over his options right now as well.<\/p>\n \u201cWe know he\u2019s a top-class performer, but he\u2019s had his injury problems and it\u2019s probably not been one of his most consistent consistent season this year.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a player in huge demand and if Spurs go down I definitely expect him to leave.<\/p>\n \u201cEven if they do stay up, though, the player himself might be feeling it\u2019s the right time to move on for a new challenge.<\/p>\n \u201cHe sees himself as somebody who should be playing regular Champions League football.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.soccernews.com\/wp-content\/themes\/SN\/images\/300x250_HR.gif\")
