Overall, new CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon says (backed with data) that &#8220;revenue from game sales and royalties increased&#8221; thanks to the sales of Alan Wake 2, Control, and FBC: Firebreak &#8211; which currently remains playable despite getting no new content &#8211; is helping. Though &#8220;revenue decreased by -1.9% to EUR 13.1 (13.4) million&#8221;, the &#8220;operating profit (EBIT) was EUR 1.0 (1.3) million, and the operating profit margin was 7.8% (9.7%) of revenue&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight is the original Control, which &#8220;retained solid sales momentum during Q1 and sold better than in the comparison period, driven by promotions and added visibility from CONTROL Resonant&#8221; according to the report. In fact, Remedy released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/remedy-releases-control-ultimate-edition-on-iphone-and-ipad\">a surprising iPhone and iPad port<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/we-dont-want-to-mislead-players-control-resonant-devs-confirm-jesse-faden-wont-be-playable-theres-no-parry-and-its-definitely-not-a-soulslike\">Jesse Faden<\/a>&#8216;s adventure last month. At the time of writing, Control has sold over 6m copies. For reference, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamedeveloper.com\/business\/control-has-topped-5-million-sales-and-attracted-20-million-players\">5 million sales were reported only a few months ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been claimed in the past that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/remedy-has-recouped-most-of-the-development-and-marketing-expenses-for-alan-wake-2\">Alan Wake 2 was a particularly tough game to recoup all the development and marketing expenses for<\/a>, but it appears that Remedy&#8217;s single-player bets are paying off in the long run. Moves like putting the Alan Wake games on Amazon&#8217;s Luna service are also making extra money through royalties on top of the &#8220;normal back-catalogue sales&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Back in February, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/remedy-entertainment-ceo-ea-exec-sports-betting\">EA veteran Jean-Charles Gaudechon took over Remedy as CEO<\/a> and promised to &#8220;protect what makes it special&#8221; as the developer entered the final stretch of development on Control Resonant, which is still on track to release in 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X\/S.
