The company has been rebranded as\u00a0Waaree\u00a0Transpower Private Limited.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company\u00a0acquired\u00a0the\u00a0additional\u00a0equity for\u00a0approximately INR19\u00a0billion. The transaction, expected to close by June 2026, is aimed at supporting capacity expansion and funding the transformer business\u2019s capital expenditure needs, the company said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-tech.org\/waaree-energies-acquires-64-stake-in-transformer-maker-kotsons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Waaree\u00a0Energies completed its acquisition of\u00a0Kotsons\u00a0in September 2025<\/a>, with the company noting the move would support rising domestic and international demand for power transformers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The moves are aligned with\u00a0Waaree\u2019s\u00a0strategy to\u00a0consolidate its presence across\u00a0the solar value chain under its \u201cWaaree\u00a02.0\u201d initiative. The company has been steadily expanding its footprint in the solar sector and has outlined this as the next phase of its growth plan.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Recently,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-tech.org\/waaree-begins-construction-of-its-10gw-solar-ingot-and-wafer-plant-in-maharashtra\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the company broke ground on its 10GW solar ingot and wafer manufacturing plant in Butibori, Nagpur, Maharashtra<\/a>.\u00a0With a capacity of 10GW each for solar ingots and wafers,\u00a0the plant is spread across 300 acres.\u00a0Waaree\u00a0invested\u00a0approximately\u00a0INR62\u00a0billion (US$671 million) in the facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the company\u00a0commissioned a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-tech.org\/waaree-commissions-5-4gw-cell-manufacturing-facility-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">5.4GW cell manufacturing facility in Gujarat<\/a>.\u00a0According to the firm, it is\u00a0the largest cell manufacturing facility in India.\u00a0The\u00a0Chikli\u00a0plant\u00a0was\u00a0commissioned in two phases, covering passivated emitter rear contact (PERC) and tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mumbai-headquartered\u00a0Waaree\u00a0operates\u00a0advanced manufacturing facilities with a total solar PV module capacity of 22.3GW\u00a0globally\u00a0and solar cell manufacturing capacity of up to 5.4GW.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-tech.org\/waaree-to-build-us415-million-solar-glass-plant-increases-holding-in-kotsons\/\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Waaree\u00a0said the INR39 billion\u00a0capital expenditure for the facility will be financed through a combination of debt and internal accruals.
