{"id":903244,"date":"2026-05-03T06:14:57","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T11:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/03\/intermountain-health-primary-childrens-hospital-in-lehi-utah-is-expanding-services\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T06:14:57","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T11:14:57","slug":"intermountain-health-primary-childrens-hospital-in-lehi-utah-is-expanding-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/03\/intermountain-health-primary-childrens-hospital-in-lehi-utah-is-expanding-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Intermountain Health Primary Children\u2019s Hospital in Lehi, Utah, is Expanding Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just Two Years After Opening, Intermountain Health Primary Children\u2019s Hospital &#8211; Miller Family Campus in Lehi is Already Expanding to Meet Growing Demand for Pediatric Care\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<div id=\"cwrap\">\n<p>After only two years,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/intermountainhealthcare.org\/locations\/primary-childrens-lehi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Intermountain Health\u00a0Primary Children\u2019s Hospital\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Miller Family Campus<\/a>\u00a0in Lehi, Utah has become a critical access point for pediatric trauma care and specialty services for children in fast-growing communities in Utah County and Southern Salt Lake County.<\/p>\n<p>Since opening in 2024, Intermountain Health\u00a0Primary Children\u2019s Hospital\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Miller Family Campus has cared for tens of thousands of children and is already expanding services to meet the needs of children and families in nearby communities.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital just celebrated its\u00a0second anniversary\u00a0with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for\u00a0eight new medical-surgical beds to expand access to patients.\u00a0Later this year, six new newborn ICU rooms will be added, increasing total inpatient capacity by approximately 20 percent.<\/p>\n<p>In its first two years, Intermountain Primary Children\u2019s Hospital\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Miller Family Campus has delivered care at a remarkable scale:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trauma cases: 1,107<\/li>\n<li>Surgical cases: 11,879<\/li>\n<li>Patient days: 30,372<\/li>\n<li>Emergency department visits: 39,872<\/li>\n<li>Clinic visits: 145,099<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThese numbers reflect more than volume of patients. They\u00a0represent\u00a0families who no longer\u00a0must\u00a0travel\u00a0long distances\u00a0for specialized pediatric care, and children receiving timely\u00a0treatment in moments that matter most closer to their home and families,\u201d said Lisa Paletta, president of Intermountain Primary Children\u2019s Hospital\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Miller Family Campus.<\/p>\n<p>One such patient is 17-year-old\u00a0Max\u00a0Braithwaite.<\/p>\n<p>After a serious motocross accident\u00a0in Delta, Utah, Max was being airlifted to Intermountain Primary Children\u2019s Hospital in Salt Lake City\u00a0when he\u00a0became unstable mid-flight.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0flight team\u00a0rerouted\u00a0and landed at the\u00a0Intermountain Primary Children\u2019s\u00a0Hospital \u2013 Miller Family Campus\u00a0in Lehi, saving 10 critical minutes that may have been the difference between life and death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey completely saved his life,\u201d said Max\u2019s mother, Ashley.\u00a0\u201cHe wouldn\u2019t have made it\u00a0to Salt Lake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since the accident, Max\u00a0has continued to receive follow-up care at the Miller Family Campus, including\u00a0both\u00a0rehabilitation\u00a0services for his\u00a0injures\u00a0and\u00a0specialty\u00a0care for\u00a0Type 1\u00a0diabetes \u2013 a\u00a0previously\u00a0undiagnosed\u00a0chronic\u00a0condition that\u00a0was discovered by Intermountain Primary Children\u2019s\u00a0Hospital caregivers during his\u00a0hospital\u00a0stay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hospital is close to my home because I live in Saratoga Springs and so\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0close\u00a0and convenient. Everybody\u00a0there has\u00a0just been friendly and so supportive, and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0just well organized, well\u00a0run. We\u2019re very grateful for their care that Max received,\u201d said Ashley.<\/p>\n<p>She had high praise for Max\u2019s care team at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis team is just\u00a0rockstar. They know him; they get him totally,\u201d Ashley added. \u201cThey just understand how he feels about things,\u00a0how\u00a0he works,\u00a0and how he thinks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re awesome,\u201d agreed Max.<\/p>\n<p>Since opening, the Intermountain Primary Children\u2019s Miller Family Campus has\u00a0added other important new specialty services, such as the Pectus Center of Excellence, which\u00a0has\u00a0already helped\u00a060\u00a0patients improve their quality of life through specialized\u00a0rib cage\u00a0surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Intermountain Primary Children\u2019s Miller Family Campus team\u00a0recently began a sports medicine\u00a0program and\u00a0plans to\u00a0install\u00a0an outdoor sports rehabilitation\u00a0facility\u00a0this summer\u00a0on the beautiful grounds of the campus,\u00a0where children can work with physical therapists to regain their\u00a0athletic skills after\u00a0sports\u00a0injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur campus was always designed to grow. This\u00a0hospital\u00a0was built with the future in mind, and\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0just getting started.
