Customers will receive a text message once they\u2019ve been migrated to 5G.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the company\u2019s full statement:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are pleased to confirm that, in addition to new customers, existing Virgin Plus customers will also benefit from 5G nationwide at no additional cost \u2014 delivering fast, reliable connectivity from coast to coast.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bell\u2019s announcement comes after it <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilesyrup.com\/2026\/03\/12\/bell-relaunches-5g-on-virgin-plus-joining-fido-and-koodo\/\">relaunched 5G service on Virgin Plus last week<\/a>. Virgin previously offered 5G plans in 2023, but later removed them.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Bell said it was \u201cevaluating\u201d whether it would bring 5G to existing customers, saying in a statement that \u201cWe recognize huge value in being on a 5G network and we\u2019re always evaluating opportunities to improve our Virgin customer experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A couple of days before Bell relaunched 5G on Virgin, <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilesyrup.com\/2026\/03\/10\/fido-launches-5g-free-upgrade\/\">Rogers-owned Fido officially launched 5G<\/a>\u00a0for the first time. As part of the launch, Rogers announced it would upgrade all Fido customers to 5G service at no additional cost.<\/p>\n<p>Telus-owned Koodo also previously <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilesyrup.com\/2023\/08\/03\/koodo-joins-the-5g-sphere-with-two-plans-to-choose-from\/\">offered 5G plans in 2023<\/a>, removed them in <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilesyrup.com\/2024\/05\/02\/koodo-changes-plans-drops-5g-options\/\">2024<\/a>, then <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilesyrup.com\/2025\/07\/24\/koodo-brings-back-5g-plans\/\">brought them back in 2025<\/a>.
