Former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has\u00a0revealed Liam Rosenior\u2019s role in\u00a0Cole Palmer\u2019s recent dip in form at Chelsea,\u00a0Soccernet.ng<\/u><\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n Rosenior replaced\u00a0Enzo Maresca\u00a0as head coach in January, and while he enjoyed a promising start at the club, they have endured a difficult run of results in recent weeks, with performances on the pitch also raising questions about the team\u2019s setup.<\/p>\n Palmer, who\u00a0has been\u00a0one of Chelsea\u2019s standout performers\u00a0since his arrival at the club in 2023, has struggled to maintain his output in front of goal\u00a0and even though he has suffered from minor injury setbacks, his influence in games has noticeably dropped, particularly since the turn of the year.<\/p>\n The England international\u00a0has also been\u00a0linked with a potential move to Manchester United\u00a0and\u00a0has recorded just one goal contribution in his last 10 appearances across all competitions. He\u2019s had injuries but Cole Palmer doesn\u2019t even know what happens in football. When I watch him play right now, he looks confused on the pitch, like he doesn\u2019t know who he\u2019s playing with, what is happening, what the system is, what the setup is\u201d,\u00a0Mikel Obi said.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n Mikel also highlighted how different Palmer\u2019s role feels compared to earlier in the season when Maresca was still in charge.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is no direction. With Enzo Maresca there was a direction. He knows where he needs to play, he knows he needs to play in the pocket between the right and the left, he needs to play in that pocket.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n \u201cRight now, he looks lost on the pitch. There is no sense of direction and that\u2019s when I look at Liam Rosenior, there is no instruction from the touchline. I don\u2019t see a manager that screams.
