The streaming giant teams up with one of the world\u2019s biggest music companies to bring the stories of iconic and contemporary artists to a global audience<\/p>\n

Netflix <\/a>and Warner Music Group<\/a> (WMG) have announced an exclusive multi-year partnership to develop non-fiction docu-series and full-length films centred on the lives, music, and legacies of the record label\u2019s roster that spans legendary names and rising acts.<\/p>\n

Announced on Mar. 20, 2026, the deal comes on the back of growing popularity with music documentaries, from Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s Eras Tour<\/em> film grossing millions in theaters worldwide to Netflix\u2019s Homecoming: A Film By Beyonc\u00e9<\/a> <\/em>becoming the fourth most-watched documentary on the platform when it came out in 2019.<\/p>\n

Under the arrangement, Warner Music Group will work alongside Unigram \u2014 a production outfit helmed by Amanda Ghost and Gregor Cameron \u2014 to serve as the dedicated production arm for the label\u2019s long-form programming. Each project will be developed in close collaboration with the artist in question, or their estate, ensuring the storytelling remains personal and of course, officially blessed.<\/p>\n

Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl said in a statement, \u201cThe combination of Warner Music Group\u2019s IP with Netflix\u2019s global reach is an incredible opportunity to introduce new fans to our artists and songwriters all around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix\u2019s documentary films & series vice president Adam Del Deo added in his statement, \u201cWe\u2019ve seen how music inspires incredible fandom on Netflix so we\u2019re excited to partner with Warner Music Group and the best-in-class artists they work with to bring even more indelible music storytelling to our members.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first projects out of the partnership are expected to be announced in the coming months, but given Warner Music Group\u2019s roster, which ranges from David Bowie, Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Madonna, alongside current star acts like Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Coldplay and Bruno Mars, we\u2019re likely to see some big titles coming up.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
