The bill defines <span>cryptocurrency<\/span> as a virtual currency that is not issued by a central authority and functions as a medium of exchange using encryption to verify transactions. Through the brokerage structure, participants can gain exposure to <span>cryptocurrency<\/span> directly as an investment option rather than only through traditional securities products. This kind of account will allow users to operate <span>nodes<\/span> and engage in peer-to-peer transactions.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The executive further clarified the types of crypto-related products that may appear within the plans. He added: \u201cExchange-traded funds (ETFs) can be included in these plans, but not stablecoin-related funds due to the current lack of clarity regarding <span>stablecoin<\/span> yields.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beyond retirement investment provisions, the legislation restricts state and local agencies from prohibiting the use of digital assets for lawful payments or from limiting an individual\u2019s ability to hold <span>cryptocurrency<\/span> through self-hosted or hardware wallets. It also prevents most public agencies from blocking <span>blockchain<\/span> activities such as operating <span>nodes<\/span>, developing <span>blockchain<\/span> software, transferring digital assets, or participating in <span>staking<\/span>.
