Haulcy, Safety, LSU

The Eagles need at safety is presently pretty desperate. If the team can’t draft any of the top three guys in the first round, Haulcy feels like a great consolation in round two. He is a big, athletic, rangy coverage safety who could develop into playing both safety spots.

Pick 3.68: Skylar Bell, Wide Receiver, UConn

The Eagles have a bit more flexibility in the short term at wide receiver. They still need to prioritize it highly, but the Hollywood Brown presence takes some pressure off the need to go receiver in the first round. Skylar Bell feels like a great candidate to outplay his draft position. His athleticism and mentality at wide receiver will translate well to the NFL. If he can adjust to a more pro style route tree, he will be a stud.

Pick 3.98: Daylen Everette, Cornerback, UGA

The Eagles still have a long-term cornerback need, it’s just not as pressing now after signing Riq Woolen to a one-year contract . Daylen Everette has rare physical talent for the position and could learn from the Eagles vets as he develops into a future starter.

Pick 4.122: Anthony Lucas, Edge, USC

The Eagles could go edge much higher, but instead go with some mid-round swings here. His physical profile puts him in a weird position when it comes to NFL projection. He lacks the bulk needed for a full time interior linemen but also doesn’t have the length to play on the edge. That pushes him to day three, where the Eagles could scoop him up and take a chance on his athleticism.

Pick 5.153: Max Llewelyn, Edge, Iowa

Max Llewelyn is another great late round swing at edge. He has the physical profile of a guy who can succeed in the NFL but didn’t consistently put it on the field in college.
