Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake<\/strong>, has revealed that his relationship with his father, Fatai Odunsi, grew cold after he decided\u00a0to pursue a music career.<\/p>\n

Naija News<\/strong> reports that Asake, in a recent interview with YouTuber, Korty EO, said his father strongly opposed his career choice.<\/p>\n

The Sungba crooner further stated\u00a0that he disobeyed his father by absconding from him to chase his dream.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cMy dad and I were so close when I was younger. But it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I\u2019m doing now but my father said \u2018No.\u2019 I left regardless.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Recall that in March 2025, Asake\u2019s father made headlines after he accused the singer of neglect and abandonment.<\/p>\n

Following the heavy backlash, Asake and his father reconciled, with the singer taking responsibility for his dad\u2019s welfare.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Asake recently recounted some of the challenges he faced<\/a> <\/strong>with show promoters during the early days of his career.<\/p>\n

The singer, during an interview with Famous TV, credited his resilience and perseverance for his growth in the music industry.<\/p>\n

According to Asake, show promoters rejected him because he sang mostly in Yoruba.<\/p>\n

The singer said he is thankful to God that he did not change his sound or stop singing in Yoruba despite the earlier rejections.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
