Through the deal, Universal India and Albuquerque will release future pop and hip-hop music by Ravichander and other artists signed to the label.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Devraj Sanyal<\/strong>, chairman &#038; CEO of Universal Music India and senior vp of strategy, AMEA, said in a statement: \u201cAnirudh represents the future of Indian music \u2014 bold, original, and with enormous potential. Under the deal, What the Duck founder <strong>Moy Samkwan Tonsompong<\/strong> has been named managing director of Universal Music Thailand but will remain closely involved with What the Duck. Co-founders <strong>Chichaya Karnasuta<\/strong> and <strong>Torpong Chantabubpha<\/strong>, meanwhile, will remain \u201ckey members\u201d of the What the Duck team, according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFounded in 2014, What the Duck boasts several of the country\u2019s leading artists on its roster, including The TOYS, Bowkylion, Musketeers and Whal &#038; Dolph, along with emerging talent like Landokmai, Purpeech, and Mirrr.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe deal represents UMG\u2019s latest investment in Thailand following its 2024 acquisition of RS Group\u2019s catalog in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Adam Granite<\/strong>, UMG\u2019s CEO for Africa, Middle East and Asia, said in a statement, \u201cThis is an exciting next step in our strategy to expand our presence in fast-growing markets. The acquisition expands the YouTube tools and resources available to Symphonic clients and brings the YouTube channels of artists including Lindsey Stirling, Sabaton, Yanni, Good Charlotte, Bryant Myers and Switchfoot under Symphonic\u2019s management. The deal also encompasses management and monetization of Chappell Roan\u2019s YouTube channel for content released before her 2023 album, <em>The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDistro Nation CEO and founder <strong>Jon Baltz<\/strong> will join Symphonic as head of UGC &#038; rights management, along with the rest of his team. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cDistro Nation, like Symphonic, has been a champion for independent artists for many years, providing invaluable resources to help artists thrive on YouTube and beyond,\u201d said <strong>Jorge Brea<\/strong>, CEO of Symphonic, in a statement. \u201cThis acquisition was a natural partnership that will allow us to offer even better tools and strategies for success to our artist and label community. The JV will foster the expansion of IMI\u2019s dayclub brand O Beach, which boasts flagship locations in Ibiza and Dubai. The companies will additionally develop \u201ca new five-star music-led beach club concept\u201d in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East, according to a press release. Each of these clubs will include \u201cartist collaborations, live showcases, curated pop-up moments, and digital integrations,\u201d the release adds.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThis is about creating spaces where music doesn\u2019t just soundtrack the experience, but shapes it,\u201d said <strong>Robert Lavia<\/strong>, CEO of UMusic Hospitality &#038; Lifestyle, in a statement. \u201cTravel, hospitality, and music have always been deeply linked. Blake first linked up with Good Boy through indify, a platform that helps independent artists assemble teams. Good Boy then worked with the singer-songwriter, who was previously signed to Republic Records in the U.S., to execute partner deals with companies including <strong>Virgin Music Group<\/strong> (distribution) and Copenhagen-based music company <strong>Stellar Music<\/strong> (digital marketing strategy. Under the deal, all four parties, including Blake, contributed funding to the album and will share in its success. In its first week, <em>Trying Times<\/em> debuted at No. 3 on the U.K.\u2019s Official Albums Chart and No. 1 on its Independent Albums Chart, the release adds.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cFor decades, the only people participating in the success of a record on the master side were the labels, artists, and sometimes producers,\u201d said <strong>John Zamora<\/strong>, co-founder of Good Boy Records, in a statement. \u201cWe built this structure to extend that philosophy to the partners actually building the campaign. When marketing and strategic collaborators are treated like true partners, not vendors, everyone is further aligned around the same goal: making the record win.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Live Nation Invests in Romania and Slovakia\u2019s Live Entertainment Industries<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Live Nation<\/strong> is investing in Romania and Slovakia via partnerships with leading local live music companies <strong>Emagic <\/strong>(Romania) and <strong>Vivien<\/strong> (Slovakia).<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cFrom Bucharest to Bratislava, fans are telling us they want more live music in their own cities,\u201d said a Live Nation spokesperson about the deals. \u201cWith so many travelling for concerts and more international visitors building gigs into their trips \u2014 this is a pivotal moment to invest in the region\u2019s live entertainment infrastructure. Through its deal, Lex Records, which has released music by BADBADNOTGOOD &#038; Ghostface Killah, Danger Mouse, Eyedress, Kae Tempest and the late MF DOOM, will receive global digital distribution, marketing and audience development. Tru Thoughts Records, whose roster includes Flowdan, Quantic, Hot 8 Brass Band and Moonchild, will receive digital distribution in all territories, excluding North America and Japan, and have access to IDOL\u2019s suite of rights management, catalogue development and DSP strategy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Oak View Group\/Iowa State University<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Oak View Group (OVG) <\/strong>signed a five-year agreement with <strong>Iowa State University <\/strong>to secure and manage live events in the Iowa State Center. As part of the deal, OVG will additionally handle day-to-day management of CY Stephens Auditorium, including booking and programming, while providing input on design and improvements.
