It has been a rough couple of weeks with three critical losses in the transfer portal: guard Isaiah Johnson, forward Bangot Dak, and forward Sebastian Rancik.

These departures leave holes in the frontcourt for rebounding and defense, and in the backcourt with limited scoring from the guard position. It is now time for Boyle and the Colorado athletic department to find players to fill these holes.

Here are three of the biggest transfer portal targets the Buffaloes could be looking at to improve the roster for the 2026 season.

Feb 18, 2026; Atlanta, Georgia, USA; Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets forward Baye Ndongo (11) is defended by Virginia Cavaliers guard Dallin Hall (30) in the second half at McCamish Pavilion. He is someone that Colorado must go after if they really want to improve the play of their front court.

Last season, Ndongo averaged 11.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game. Ndongo consistently cleans up misses on the glass and can provide some offense when called upon. His shooting splits are solid as well. In 2025, he shot 55.6 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three, and 71.6 percent from the free-throw line.

With his ability to stretch the floor, Ndongo can help negate the losses in Colorado’s front court on the offensive end. However, his most valuable trait for the Buffaloes would be his rebounding. Throughout his career, he has been one of the more consistent rebounders in college basketball, as he has averaged 8.5 rebounds per game the last three seasons.

Ndongo’s experience in a conference like the ACC shows that he can be productive in very competitive environments, which could be very valuable for Colorado. With how important this offseason is, Boyle and athletic director Fernando Lovo must work together to try to land a player like Ndongo to significantly improve the frontcourt for the Buffaloes.

Dec 6, 2025; North Little Rock, Arkansas, USA; Arkansas Razorbacks guard Meleek Thomas (1) drives against Fresno State Bulldogs forward Wilson Jacques (16) during the second half at Simmons Bank Arena. Jacques was a consistent player for the Bulldogs as a freshman in 2025 and could work into a starting role for Colorado in 2026.

Last season, Jacques averaged 8.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game. He also provides some solid shooting. In 2025, Hawks had shooting splits of 48.4 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from three, and 74.4 percent from the free-throw line.

As a young player, Jacques has a great opportunity to continue to develop, and transferring into a very competitive conference like the Big 12 may give him a great chance to continue that development.

Jacques’s rebounding and ability to be a solid defender are traits that Colorado desperately needs if they want to compete next season. This seems like a great opportunity, Jacques, to continue his upward trajectory and for the Buffaloes to replenish their front court.

Mar 11, 2026; New York, NY, USA; Butler Bulldogs guard Finley Bizjack (11) controls the ball against the Providence Friars during the second half at Madison Square Garden. Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images | Brad Penner-Imagn Images

Finley Bizjack, Butler Guard

Currently, Colorado lacks backward scoring outside of guard Barrington Hargress. A player like guard Finley Bizjack could be exactly what the Buffaloes need to strengthen the backcourt.

Bizjack has three years of experience in the Big East Conference with Butler and has progressed every single season. All of that progress resulted in his best season during 2025, where he averaged 17.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 0.7 steals per game.

Bizjack was also able to shoot the ball very efficiently. He went 42.6 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from three, and 85.0 percent from the free-throw line. Finding the additional backcourt scoring is something Colorado must do, but being able to land someone as efficient as Bizjack could be an amazing addition.

The Big 12 is filled with teams that have great perimeter defenders like Houston, Arizona, Iowa State, and BYU. With his skill set, Bizjack could work himself into a significant role in the back court alongside Hargress in those big-time games.

For Coach Boyle, it is imperative that the Buffaloes at least get to the NCAA Tournament next season. Having a multitude of scores on the perimeter is very valuable in tournaments where points sometimes can come at a premium, which is exactly what Bizjack can provide for Colorado.

Bizjack will be a player several schools try to target, but if the Buffaloes really want to field a competitive roster, Bizjack is a target they must do everything they can to land. Bizjack would not only give Colorado more experience but also a significant amount of spacing and scoring from the perimeter.

Sign up to our free newsletter and follow us on Facebook for the latest news.

Read More Aiden Checketts

Basketball Following their exit in the College Basketball Crown, the Colorado Buffaloes and coach Tad Boyle have some work to do to get the roster where it needs to be.
