\n\tPaul Simon<\/a> is one of Saturday Night Live<\/a>\u2019s<\/em> most regular musical guests.<\/p>\n

\n\tLorne Michaels\u2019 friend has hosted the show four times and has been a musical guest 13 times (including as the oldest musical guest).<\/p>\n

\n\tHe turned up again on tonight\u2019s show to introduce Harry Styles<\/a>\u2019 second musical performance. Styles\u2019 first song was introduced by Ryan Gosling<\/a>, who crashed his show much like the One Direction star crashed the Project Hail Mary<\/em> star\u2019s episode.<\/p>\n

\n\tSimon welcomed Styles ahead of him performing \u201cComing Up Roses,\u201d from his Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally<\/em>\u00a0album, on the piano.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Simon & Garfunkel star last appeared on SNL<\/a><\/em> in 2018 but also opened SNL50: The Anniversary Special<\/em> with Sabrina Carpenter with the pair playing 1966 single \u201cHomeward Bound.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStyles has talked up Simon\u2019s influence on him. He revealed that One Direction song \u201cWalking in the Wind\u201d was a homage to Graceland<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m a big\u00a0Paul Simon\u00a0fan and I think the inspiration behind it was Graceland<\/em>, in which the verse was so conversational, informal and it\u2019s like spoken word,\u201d he said in 2022. \u201cIt\u2019s quite casual and I love that album and when I listen to it I love hearing the influence from that in this song. I really love the song.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2015, he said, \u201cI grew up in a pub for a few years when I was a kid and Simon and Garfunkel were just constantly playing, always. Every time \u2018Cecilia\u2019 started, I\u2019d be like, \u2018I think I\u2019ve heard this a hundred times today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStyles closed out the show thanking both Simon and Gosling. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
