Jaakko Eino Kalevi<\/strong> returns with new single \u2018Black Diamond\u2019.<\/p>\n The ever-evolving Finnish musician is impossible to predict, and with the dust only recently settling on his album \u2018Chaos Magic\u2019 Jaakko has returned with something new.<\/p>\n Out now, new single \u2018Black Diamond\u2019 is a phantasmagorical eight-minute mini-epic, weaving a path that darts between reference points such as feted proggers Goblin, synth maestro Cerrone, and Scandinavian production Lindstrom.<\/p>\n Baroque in the best possible way, it\u2019s a finely detailed composition that depicts an impossible relationship.<\/p>\n Recorded in Athens, Jaakko Eino Kalevi comments\u2026<\/p>\n The original song \u2018Black Diamond\u2019 was released by the Finnish power metal band Stratovarius about 30 years ago. Around the same time, I played my first show with my first band Masterpiece, and this kind of music was a big part of my world. I later read that Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki originally wrote the song about his pet dog, and that singer Timo Kotipelto then transformed the lyrics into a story about an impossible relationship \u2013 and this feels fitting for a song that keeps changing shape.<\/em><\/p>\n
