By comparison, Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust\u2019s fee is 0.15%, while BlackRock\u2019s iShares Bitcoin Trust and Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund are each 0.25%.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-morgan-stanley-s-application-for-a-spot-bitcoin-etf\">Morgan Stanley\u2019s application for a spot Bitcoin ETF<\/h2>\n<p>Previously a cautious observer of cryptocurrencies, Morgan Stanley filed its <a href=\"https:\/\/coinpedia.org\/crypto-live-news\/morgan-stanley-files-s-1-for-spot-bitcoin-etf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">initial applications<\/a> for a spot Bitcoin ETF and a spot Solana ETF on January 6, 2026. Shortly afterwards, it filed for a staked Ether ETF and then appointed Amy Oldenburg, one of its time-honored executives, as head of its digital asset strategy.<\/p>\n<p>On March 17, the bank <a href=\"https:\/\/coinpedia.org\/news\/morgan-stanley-files-updated-bitcoin-etf-plan-wall-street-race-heats-up\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed<\/a> an amended S-1, specifying a $1 million seed investment and the ticker MSBT. The company also noted that Coinbase and BNY Mellon were the proposed custodians of the product.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A week later, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) issued an official listing for the product, citing its launch as \u201cimminent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the spot Bitcoin ETF, Morgan Stanley <a href=\"https:\/\/coinpedia.org\/crypto-live-news\/morgan-stanley-moves-to-offer-bitcoin-custody-and-trading\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">applied<\/a> for a national trust banking charter in mid-February to provide crypto custody, trading, and staking services.<\/p>\n<p>The bank now recommends that its clients allocate 2%-4% of their investment portfolios to cryptocurrencies, including those in individual retirement accounts (IRAs) and 401(k) plans.<\/p>\n<p>Despite disputes with stablecoin issuers over yield farming, banks are increasing their exposure to blockchain and cryptocurrencies through products such as ETFs, tokenized fiat deposits, and <a href=\"https:\/\/coinpedia.org\/news\/rwa-crypto-crosses-25b-but-is-it-real-adoption-or-just-branding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tokenized real-world assets<\/a>.
