Entertainment Pan-Asian entertainment company Pacific Music Group just announced a partnership with Timbaland\u2019s Stage Zero to sign AI artist TaTa Taktumi.<\/h2>\n
Pacific Music Group (PMG), the Pan-Asian global music and entertainment company founded by Ne-Yo, Sonu Nigam, MC Jin, and veteran executive Jonathan Serbin, has announced a partnership with Timbaland\u2019s entertainment company Stage Zero to sign AI artist TaTa Taktumi.<\/p>\n
The deal will see PMG serve as TaTa\u2019s manager in Asia and her global record label worldwide. The company will \u201coversee strategic market positioning, release campaigns, partnerships, media, and long-term brand development across key Asian territories.\u201d<\/p>\n
While initially, TaTa made headlines for the negative reaction to AI artists<\/a> as a concept\u2014and then Timbaland and AI company Suno took a hit for allegedly using stolen music to train AI<\/a>\u2014the project is now leaning into its \u201croot[s] in human artistry.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTaTa\u2019s story is about convergence, culture, technology, and identity coming together,\u201d said Jonathan Serbin, CEO at Pacific Music Group. \u201cRevealing her human identity at this moment creates the perfect bridge into Asia. This isn\u2019t just a signing; it\u2019s a homecoming. We are proud to support her as she reconnects with her heritage and builds a new cultural movement from it.\u201d<\/p>\n It might seem like a stretch, but the strategy actually makes sense for Asian markets where synthesizer-voice software like Vocaloid<\/a> (where Hatsune Miku originated<\/a>) has been a thing for over 20 years. While not AI-generated, it shows an existing interest in hybrid artists that \u201cbridge the gap.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cArtist development has always been about connecting the imagination of the artist to real people,\u201d Timbaland shared. \u201cAt Stage Zero, we are expanding that process, allowing ideas to take shape across music, visuals, and identity in real time, sometimes even in reverse order. TaTa represents a shift towards hyper-creativity.
