Charli XCX Says She Wants to “Quit Music” for New Career Endeavor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Charli XCX<\/a><\/strong> is everywhere, she\u2019s so cinema.<\/p>\n The \u201cParty 4 U\u201d singer revealed she\u2019s interested in turning her focus to acting following a recent string of film projects, including her recent mocumentary The Moment<\/em> and her soundtrack album for Wuthering Heights<\/em>.<\/p>\n After Quenlin Blackwell<\/strong> asked Charli if she wanted to \u201cact more\u201d during a recent episode of the Feeding Starving Celebrities<\/a><\/em> series, the 33-year-old replied, \u201cYes, are you kidding? I want to quit music, babe, and act.\u201d<\/p>\n And when Quenlin, 25, highlighted the success of the Grammy winner\u2019s 2024 album Brat<\/em>, she joked, \u201cWhat else is there to do?\u201d<\/p>\n In fact, Charli\u2014who wed The 1975<\/strong> drummer George Daniel<\/a><\/strong> in July\u2014noted that she shared an idea for a horror film on TikTok<\/a> in May, expanding upon the premise which she described as an \u201cit-girl Final Destination<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe would be being killed by machinery or something like that,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd I feel like if it was an it-girl thing, all the deaths would be on the runway. I would probably die at some kind of a rave. You know what I mean?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Charli has already begun to make her mark in the movie business, having released The Moment<\/em>\u2014featuring cameos from the likes of Kylie Jenner<\/a><\/strong> and Julia Fox<\/a><\/strong>\u2014in January. And after creating an album inspired by Emerald Fennell<\/strong>\u2019s period drama starring Margot Robbie<\/a><\/strong> and Jacob Elordi<\/a><\/strong>, she\u2019s also set to team up with Jack Antonoff to contribute original songs to the upcoming psychological horror Mother Mary<\/em> starring Anne Hathaway<\/a><\/strong> and Michaela Coel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n <\/span>Stewart Cook\/CBS<\/span><\/p>\n<\/section>\n \u201cFilm is where my creative brain seems to be gravitating,\u201d Charli wrote in a post on her Substack<\/a> in November. \u201cI\u2019m enjoying acting, I\u2019m enjoying writing, I\u2019m enjoying watching and I\u2019m above all enjoying discovering a new craft.\u201d<\/p>\n But while she described her recent foray into filmmaking as \u201creally enriching and instinctual,\u201d she added, \u201cMusic is a limb I will probably never fully be able to cut from my body despite trying quite hard to do so at points.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Thankfully for Charli, she has plenty of singers-turned-actors to look to for inspiration.
