Mace Group has hired an international creative agency counting Amazon and Netflix among its clients to help the contractor change its name, Construction News <\/em>can reveal.<\/p>\n

London-based Koto\u2019s portfolio, as listed on its website, includes projects for global brands such as Airbnb, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Netflix and WhatsApp.<\/p>\n

An exact timeline for the process is still to be confirmed, although Mace previously said it expected to complete the rebrand later this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On 5 March, the group completed the separation of its consulting arm<\/a>, following the latter\u2019s acquisition by Goldman Sachs Alternatives for an undisclosed sum.<\/p>\n

The deal means that\u00a0Mace Group<\/a>\u00a0is a standalone contracting business, trading as Mace Construct until the rebrand is completed.<\/p>\n

Speaking to CN <\/em>earlier this month, chief executive Jason Millett said the ambition to rename the construction business goes hand in hand with the consultancy arm\u2019s separation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see this as very much an opportunity to say, \u2018Yeah, let\u2019s do something fresh. Let\u2019s start something new by having a new vision and a new brand.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, you don\u2019t often get that chance to do the two things simultaneously,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Millett said that existing and potential clients will be consulted about the rebrand, using a range of methods.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we\u2019ve learned as we\u2019ve gone through the process of meeting lots of these branding consultants is that there are so many digital tools now available to survey and speak to people in a very efficient way, whether that\u2019s through AI bots or other technology,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be using lots of different tools to find out what other people think.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mace\u2019s staff and supply-chain partners will also have the opportunity to contribute to the rebranding process, said Millett.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just a shareholder decision, and it\u2019s not just a board-level decision. It\u2019s something we can all get behind,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cMace has never done this before. It\u2019s one of those things that you\u2019d like to think you\u2019ve consulted as many people as possible about before you make that final decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mace\u2019s construction operations\u00a0turned over \u00a32.1bn<\/a>\u00a0in the latest group accounts for the 2024 calendar year, which would have placed it ninth in the most recent\u00a0CN100 index of top contractors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
