Nigeria U-20 head coach Moses Aduku has provided an update on the fitness of Janet Akekoromowei<\/a> following the injury she sustained in the Falconets\u2019 1\u20130 win over Senegal, Soccernet.ng reports.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the first leg of their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup qualifier held at the MKO Abiola Sports Abeokuta, the striker picked up a knock.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to Soccernet NG, Aduku confirmed that the medical team is still assessing the winger\u2019s condition, with her availability for this weekend\u2019s return leg yet to be determined.<\/p>\n

Soccer Medical Team Still Assessing Janet Akekoromowei<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe medical team has been taking care of her. We are hoping she\u2019ll come back on time. But we don\u2019t know yet until they give us their feedback,\u201d Aduku told Soccernet NG.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Akekoromowei was forced off during the first leg after picking up a knock. Sources had earlier indicated that scan results were still being awaited to determine the severity of the injury.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s a very good player and an important player for the team,\u201d the coach added. \u201cFor now, we are focused on the game and we believe God that we\u2019ll get a result in Senegal.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
