Sheffield Wednesday Football Club<\/p>\n

A family-run modular business in Yorkshire that specialised in football projects has fallen into administration.<\/p>\n

Mockba Ltd \u2013 trading as Mockba Modular \u2013 called in administrators Carrie James and Simon Carvill-Biggs of Oury Clark, according to a notice on the official Gazette site last week.<\/p>\n

Ossett-based Mockba Modular was established in 2016.<\/p>\n

In its most recent accounts for the year to 31 July 2024, it reported current assets of \u00a3317,100 but just \u00a3117 of cash at bank and in hand.<\/p>\n

The firm owed \u00a3178,700 in short-term repayable bank loans and overdrafts, and \u00a336,600 repayable after more than 12 months.<\/p>\n

It employed a monthly average of seven staff below director level, the accounts showed.<\/p>\n

In a LinkedIn post in December, its sole director Pavels Matvejevs said: \u201cSome clients [have] faced planning or other issues, leading to incomplete projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mockba Modular\u2019s project portfolio includes steel-framed modular buildings that the company\u2019s still-active website describes as \u201cversatile\u201d and \u201ceco-friendly\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to its website, it has built facilities for Sheffield Wednesday (itself in administration since last October) and Huddersfield Town\u2019s training grounds.<\/p>\n

Mockba Modular also became Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s principal partner and shirt sponsor for the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n

The firm\u2019s logo appeared on the front of the team\u2019s shirts as part of this commercial deal, which is no longer active.<\/p>\n

Companies House records show that Matvejevs is listed as the sole director of a newly established firm called Mockba Modular Group.<\/p>\n

This company, also based in Ossett, was incorporated on 29 December 2025.<\/p>\n

Mockba Modular is the latest in a long list of modular firms to experience difficulties.<\/p>\n

Offsite specialists Elements Europe, Merit Holdings and Thurston Group all fell into administration last year.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0former directors of Merit have now set up a new firm<\/a>\u00a0and Yorkshire-based Thurston was\u00a0rescued by a buyer last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other high-profile failures in the modular housing space have been Ilke Homes and Legal & General Modular, who both called time on production in 2023 after years of losses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
