And if their surnames sound eerily familiar to those of legendary guitar and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/features\/best-bass-guitars-for-every-budget\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/features\/best-bass-guitars-for-every-budget\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/features\/best-bass-guitars-for-every-budget\">bass<\/a> slingers <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/tag\/paul-stanley\" data-auto-tag-linker=\"true\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/tag\/paul-stanley\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/tag\/paul-stanley\">Paul Stanley<\/a> and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/tag\/gene-simmons\" data-auto-tag-linker=\"true\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/tag\/gene-simmons\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.guitarworld.com\/tag\/gene-simmons\">Gene Simmons<\/a>, it\u2019s because, well, they\u2019re their sons.<\/p>\n<p>The two youngins have known each other all their lives, but making music together didn&#8217;t happen until a chance hangout in December 2024, followed by an<a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DDm_mc8yxqA\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&#038;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DDm_mc8yxqA\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&#038;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\"> Instagram cover of Simon &#038; Garfunkel\u2019s <em>The Sound of Silence<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"1087223f-2128-4bdb-8e24-887eeab48c97-0\">\u201cWe were always homies but had our own things going,\u201d Stanley tells <em>Guitar World<\/em>. \u201cThen, since I moved back to L.A., we\u2019ve hung out way more and were always kicking it. One day in December, we were hanging out. I thought, \u2018I saw what he was doing, and I liked it.\u2019 He saw what I was doing and said nice things, and we were like, \u2018We should jam.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t a big idea,\u201d Simmons relates. \u201cIt was just, \u2018We should film a reel or something\u2026 people do that, right?\u2019 We got together and figured, \u2018Let\u2019s do something we both love.\u2019\u201d And, just like that, Stanley Simmons was born.<\/p>\n<p id=\"b686d61a-7155-479b-89ef-5cffde7dc13a\">Hailing from such a lineage comes with certain privileges that the two are quick to admit to, but Simmons also says that, \u201cIt&#8217;s a double-edged sword. Doors are immediately opened for us because of our family relationships, like with any business. So, in entertainment and music, we get to meet these people. But once you&#8217;re in the room, they don&#8217;t necessarily give you the benefit of the doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s working well for us is that at the end of the day, people will decide what works,\u201d he continues. \u201cIt\u2019s not the executives.
