Music Live event developer Venu quickly terminated its proposed $75 million public offering, leading to its stock plunging 16.9% following the announcement.<\/h2>\n
Venu, a developer and operator of upscale live music venues and hospitality destinations, has terminated its proposed public offering<\/a> of $75 million just a day after it was announced<\/a>. As a result, no shares of the company\u2019s common stock are being sold\u2014and its market price plunged<\/a> 40% in after-hours trading immediately thereafter. The stock has since recovered slightly<\/a>, but is still below its pre-announcement trading price.<\/p>\n According to the company, the termination<\/a> results from an assessment by Venu\u2019s management that \u201ccurrent market conditions are not conducive for an offering on terms that would be in the best interests of the company\u2019s shareholders.\u201d<\/p>\n Venu said it had plans to use the proceeds to fund development costs<\/a> for several projects, including The Sunset McKinney, The Sunset Broken Arrow, and The Sunset El Paso. Funds would also go toward completing the purchase of real property in Centennial, Colorado, where the company plans to develop an indoor music hall and restaurant.<\/p>\nThe initial offering comprised approximately $75 million of shares with an additional option for underwriters to purchase up to $11.25 million in shares to cover potential over-allotments. Deutsche Bank Securities and ThinkEquity served as joint book-running managers for the proposed offering.<\/h4>\n
