Since <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bridgerton\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bridgerton\" data-tag=\"bridgerton\">Bridgerton<\/a><\/em>\u2019s premiere in 2020, the sex-positive, petticoat heavy streaming show has built a reputation for its campy, purposefully anachronistic take on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-features\/bridgerton-shonda-rhimes-netflix-review-1106875\/\">regency-era romance<\/a>. And let\u2019s not forget its signature strings covers of chart topping classics. (Where else could you watch the culmination of a years-long friends-to-lovers plot be consummated in a carriage to a violin heavy version of \u201cGive Me Everything\u201d by Pitbull?)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBased on the best-selling novels by Julia Quinn, each <em>Bridgerton<\/em> season focuses on the romances and eventual marriages of at least one of the (alphabetically named) Bridgerton siblings. After the successful matches of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey)\u00a0in Season One and Two, and Season Three\u2019s double matches for Colin (Luke Newton) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-features\/bridgerton-season-3-francesca-star-hannah-dodd-1235022089\/\">Francesca (Hannah Dodd)<\/a>, Season Four follows the relationship between Benedict (Luke Thompson) and maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). The two have a life-changing encounter as a masquerade ball, but societal convention and the power of gossip\u00a0\u2014 driven by formerly anonymous columnist Lady Whistledown (Nicola Coughlan) \u2014 threaten to destroy their connection. And all the while, the magic and mystery are soundtracked by some of the most whimsical \u2014\u00a0and unhinged \u2014 songs the <em>Bridgerton<\/em> team can get. Ahead of Thursday\u2019s premiere, we talked with music supervisor Justin Kamps to get an exclusive look at some of the Season four\u2019s biggest needle drops, including hit songs from Usher, Paramore, and Taylor Swift.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKamps has worked on <em>Bridgerton<\/em> since 2022 and says each season starts with making sure the musical choices match both the on-set movements and the emotional journeys of the characters. \u201cWhen we\u2019re working on a season, our goals are focused on finding songs that match the choreography. Fans will also hear a VSQ cover of Third Eye Blind\u2019s \u201cNever Let You Go\u201d as well as Usher\u2019s \u201cDJ Got Us Fallin\u2019 In Love,\u201d performed by Toronto group Strings From Paris.\u00a0 Kamps says the string version of the Coldplay song gives audiences a firsthand look into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/bridgerton-season-4-benedict-1235065983\/\">Sophie\u2019s headspace<\/a> when she arrives at her first ball, hosted by the Bridgertons. \u201cIt\u2019s something that she\u2019s never experienced in her life. So we wanted something that matched that magical air of all these people arriving in these gorgeous costumes,\u201d he says. \u201cThere\u2019s all this color and lights and everyone\u2019s on their best behavior. \u2018Life In Technicolor\u2019 really matches that moment where she\u2019s in total awe and wonder at the whole thing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cTime Transfixed,\u201d the second episode, will use<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/google.com\/search?q=taylor+swift+rolling+stone&#038;rlz=1C5GCCM_en&#038;oq=taylor+swift+rolling+stone&#038;gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDAgAECMYJxiABBiKBTIMCAAQIxgnGIAEGIoFMgcIARAAGIAEMgcIAhAAGIAEMgcIAxAAGIAEMgwIBBAAGBQYhwIYgAQyBggFEEUYPDIGCAYQRRg8MgYIBxBFGDzSAQgzMzY1ajBqNKgCALACAA&#038;sourceid=chrome&#038;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\"> Taylor\u00a0Swift<\/a>\u2019s \u201cEnchanted.\u201d Episodes three\u00a0and four, include covers of \u2018All I Wanted,\u201d by Paramore and \u201cBad Idea Right?\u201d by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/olivia-rodrigo-guts-vampire-lyrics-meaning-1234819181\/\">Olivia Rodrigo<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m not going to spoil what\u2019s going on when [\u201cBad Idea Right?\u201d] plays, but it\u2019s such a, let\u2019s say, energetic moment,\u201d Kamps says. \u201cThe song plays right into it. There\u2019s a lot of bad ideas happening. And the arrangement, especially with that energetic almost fiddle sound, builds in that passion.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<section>\n<h2 id=\"section-heading\">\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<p>\n\tFollowing Netflix\u2019s recent trend of breaking heavy hitter seasons\u00a0into multiple parts, <em>Bridgerton <\/em>fans will have to wait a bit to see how Benedict and Sophie\u2019s class-crossing love story plays out.
