Former Everton forward Ademola Lookman recently made a winter switch from Atalanta BC to join Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

Former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has praised Ademola Lookman\u2019s<\/a> move from Atalanta to Atl\u00e9tico Madrid, Soccernet.ng reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former Everton<\/a> striker described the transfer as a perfect fit for both the player and the Spanish La Liga club.<\/p>\n

Lookman completed a \u20ac40 million switch to Atl\u00e9tico Madrid<\/a>, with the deal made up of a \u20ac35 million base fee and \u20ac5 million in add-ons.<\/p>\n

\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Nigerian forward finalised the move after completing his medical in Spain, which brought an end to his successful spell with Atalanta.<\/p>\n

Soccer Yakubu hails Lookman\u2019s move to Atl\u00e9tico Madrid<\/h2>\n

Reacting to the transfer, Yakubu said he was not surprised by Lookman\u2019s decision to leave Italy and expressed pride in seeing the winger join one of Spain\u2019s biggest clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was convinced he was going to leave Atalanta Bergamo this winter. Seeing him sign for a big club like Atl\u00e9tico Madrid is a great source of pride,\u201d Yakubu said to Africa Foot<\/a>. \u201cAdemola deserves to wear the colours of a top club like Atl\u00e9tico Madrid. He will bring many positive things to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The former Everton striker added that Lookman\u2019s qualitymake him a strong addition to Diego Simeone\u2019s squad as they push for domestic and European success.<\/p>\n

Yakubu also stressed that the move would be mutually beneficial, backing Lookman to flourish in La Liga and make a decisive impact for Atl\u00e9tico Madrid.<\/p>\n

He further backed Lookman to meet expectations at the club, pointing to the forward\u2019s ability to perform when trusted by his coach.<\/p>\n

His move to Atl\u00e9tico Madrid will see him become only the second Nigerian to play for the club\u2019s men\u2019s team, following Abass Lawal.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
