Accel Entertainment<\/strong>, a leading distributed gaming operator in the US, announced major C-suite changes and board additions. Among other things, the company confirmed the upcoming succession of the CEO position.<\/p>\n In its announcement, Accel Entertainment said that its founder and chief executive officer, Andy Rubenstein<\/strong>, has been selected as the chair of the company\u2019s board of directors. At the same time, Mark Phelan<\/strong>, the business\u2019s president of US gaming, has secured an additional role as chief operating officer. Finally, Karl Peterson <\/strong>joined the company\u2019s board as its lead independent director. All of these changes are with immediate effect<\/strong>, Accel Entertainment confirmed.<\/p>\n Phelan was also selected to replace Rubenstein as CEO and president<\/strong>, effective August 7, 2026<\/strong>. When that time comes, Phelan is also expected join the company\u2019s board of directors, the company said.<\/p>\n According to Accel Entertainment\u2019s announcement, the changes are in line with its long-term commitment to maintaining strong corporate governance and a clear leadership succession strategy.<\/p>\n Representatives commented on the significant internal reshuffling, expressing their thoughts on the matter. Andy Rubenstein, who is set to step down as CEO next fall, said that he is confident in passing the baton to Phelan.
