The prime minister said he was delighted that &#8220;Made in India products will now have a reduced tariff of 18 per cent&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;Wonderful to speak with my dear friend President Trump today. Delighted that Made in India products will now have a reduced tariff of 18 per cent. Big thanks to President Trump on behalf of the 1.4 billion people of India for this wonderful announcement,&#8221; Modi said.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe prime minister said that when two large economies and the world&#8217;s largest democracies work together, it benefits the people and &#8220;unlocks immense opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation&#8221;. &#8220;President Trump&#8217;s leadership is vital for global peace, stability, and prosperity. India fully supports his efforts for peace,&#8221; he said on &#8216;X&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>\nKumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, welcomed the trade announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, saying the reduced tariffs will strengthen strategic and economic ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;The Aditya Birla Group is the largest Indian investor in the U.S., and we see this agreement help shape more resilient supply chains, unlock manufacturing opportunities and drive long-term economic competitiveness in both the U.S. and India. Citizens and industries of both countries will benefit greatly from this deal,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>\nTerming the US and India as the world&#8217;s largest democracies and natural allies, the minister said, &#8220;Together, India and the US have huge potential to work for peace and development.&#8221; &#8220;The US and India have complementary strengths. Both countries can co-create technologies and co-develop solutions that will benefit the world,&#8221; Vaishnaw added.<\/p>\n<p>\nUnion Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on the landmark trade agreement, saying it shows \u201cthe power of two like-minded, fair-trading democracies working together for shared prosperity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nHe expressed gratitude for the \u201cvisionary and decisive leadership\u201d of Modi and Trump and their strong commitment to strengthening India\u2013U.S. ties.
