Wigan-headquartered Domis Construction has reported a turnover increase for the fourth consecutive year, although a \u201csignificant\u201d unspecified provision hit its pre-tax profit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The contractor\u2019s accounts for the year ending 30 April 2025 show a \u00a3253.4m turnover \u2013 a 56 per cent increase from the previous 12-month period<\/a>\u00a0when it recorded \u00a3162.6m.<\/p>\n

Pre-tax profit increased to \u00a37.5m from \u00a36.4m, although the firm\u2019s margin dipped from 4 per cent in 2024 to 3 per cent in the latest accounts.<\/p>\n

In their strategic report, the firm\u2019s directors described \u201canother successful and profitable year for the company\u201d, which saw turnover grow even \u201cafter making a significant provision relating to costs incurred on a project which was later aborted\u201d.<\/p>\n

They credited Domis\u2019 positive performance to the successful completion of five contracts. These included the firm\u2019s first recladding project supported by the Building Safety Fund, two residential blocks at Waterhouse Gardens, the Salford\u202fYouth\u202fZone, the Lowood development in Wilmslow and the final phase of the 500\u2011home Castle\u202fIrwell scheme.<\/p>\n

Headcount increased from 164 to 191, while the annual wage bill went up from \u00a39.5m to \u00a312.6m.<\/p>\n

Cash at bank rose from \u00a36.9m in the last financial year to \u00a310.5m.<\/p>\n

Domis held \u00a311.8m in loans payable after one year.<\/p>\n

The firm paid out \u00a35.6m in dividends, almost a \u00a32m increase from the previous year\u2019s \u00a33.9m.<\/p>\n

The accounts also showed an increase in the firm\u2019s RIDDOR frequency rate from 35 in 2024 to 50 in 2025.<\/p>\n

Domis secured a preferred contractor position in the last financial year on seven further projects worth about \u00a3496m. Five of those are repeat clients, while two, Property Alliance Group and Muse, are new.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the contractor started four new developments during the year, including a \u00a368.5m job to deliver Cat A office space in the Rylands building in Manchester.<\/p>\n

It is also building a 76-storey tower in Deansgate (pictured) for developer Salboy after Manchester City Council approved the second phase of the \u00a3360m Viadux scheme<\/a> last April.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
