{"id":888092,"date":"2026-01-26T23:21:31","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T05:21:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/26\/government-trains-over-155000-youth-funds-start-ups-nationwide\/"},"modified":"2026-01-26T23:21:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T05:21:31","slug":"government-trains-over-155000-youth-funds-start-ups-nationwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/26\/government-trains-over-155000-youth-funds-start-ups-nationwide\/","title":{"rendered":"Government trains over 155,000 youth, funds start-ups nationwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"article-text\">\n<p>The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has trained 155,216 young Ghanaians under its apprenticeship-to-entrepreneurship programmes and supplied 6,194 start-up kits to support emerging businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, made this known during her turn at the Government Accountability Series, noting that \u201cover GHS 19 million has been disbursed through financial partnerships to empower youth and support start-up ventures across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She emphasised that the funds aim to \u201chelp young people scale their businesses and contribute meaningfully to Ghana\u2019s economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting efforts to empower women, Minister Ofosu-Adjare revealed that \u201cour women-focused trade programmes trained over 150 women-led businesses and sensitised 2,800 cross-border traders, including youth and persons with disabilities, on best practices and opportunities in trade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added that these initiatives are critical to ensuring inclusive economic growth and equitable access to resources.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister further explained that the programmes not only provide training but also equip participants with practical tools and guidance to succeed in business. \u201cThe start-up kits and mentorship we provide are designed to turn entrepreneurial ideas into viable businesses,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Ofosu-Adjare concluded by reiterating the government\u2019s commitment to supporting youth and women entrepreneurs as part of a broader agenda for national economic empowerment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvesting in entrepreneurship is investing in Ghana\u2019s future.
