What was meant to be a moment of celebration for outspoken music executive Nota<\/a> Baloyi quickly turned into another public clash with DJ Maphorisa<\/a>, after the producer used the occasion to reopen their long-running dispute over royalties.<\/p>\n

The drama unfolded when Nota<\/a> marked the 10-year anniversary of Ngud<\/em>, Kwesta\u2019s hit song featuring Cassper Nyovest.<\/p>\n

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nota<\/a> proudly shared the milestone, writing: \u201cReleased Ngud 10 years ago today.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the celebratory post did not go unnoticed by DJ Maphorisa<\/a>, who seized the opportunity to take a swipe at Nota<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Responding publicly, the acclaimed producer questioned when he would finally be paid for his role in creating the song, adding frustration to his message after years of waiting.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you gonna pay me my royalties, yoh\ud83d\ude44 been waiting 10 years,\u201d Maphorisa wrote, instantly reigniting debate online.<\/p>\n

In the comment section, Baloyi fired back while attempting to explain why Maphorisa believes he is not owed payment.<\/p>\n

His response mixed explanation with shade, referencing music sampling disputes and publishing claims that he says complicated the song\u2019s ownership.<\/p>\n
