More than one year ago, the Princess of Wales announced she is in remission from cancer, as she showed her vulnerability in discussing her difficult health journey<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Almost two years ago, Princess Kate<\/a> sent shockwaves through the world when she announced she had been diagnosed with cancer. The Princess of Wales revealed her diagnosis in March 2024, candidly sharing that after undergoing surgery and multiple tests, she was battling cancer, although the specific type and stage were not disclosed. <\/p>\n

Kate added that she had been undergoing preventative chemotherapy, and was taking a temporary step back from her royal duties to focus on her health. Just three months later, the Princess joined the rest of the Royal Family<\/a> on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Trooping the Colour celebrations, in what was her first public appearance since announcing her diagnosis. <\/p>\n

Just one month later, Kate attended Wimbledon, and as she made her way to the royal box, she was met with rousing applause and a standing ovation from the crowd. The Princess of Wales took a step back from royal duties for the rest of the summer and in September 2024, shared that she had completed her cancer treatment. <\/p>\n

In January 2025, Kate confirmed that her cancer is in remission as she visited the Royal Marsden hospital in London. Speaking with patients about her own health battle, she shared the happy news while bonding with other patients about the trials and tribulations of facing such an illness. <\/p>\n

Since announcing her remission, both Kate and Prince William<\/a> have spoken candidly about Kate\u2019s cancer journey while visiting different hospitals, meeting staff and patients, and during candid interview moments. In October 2025, William appeared on Apple TV\u2019s The Reluctant Traveller, as he told host Eugene Levy that 2024 was \u201cthe hardest year of my life\u201d. <\/p>\n

Throughout her cancer journey, Kate has championed shining a light on the terrible illness, as she has met with others facing the same plight. In October 2024, the Princess of Wales welcomed cancer-stricken teenager Liz Hatton to Windsor Castle. Kate invited Liz to take photos of the iconic castle after hearing of her photography bucket list. Liz sadly died just one month later at the age of 17. <\/p>\n

Most recently, Kate spoke about her healing journey in a video posted to her Instagram in recognition of her 44th birthday. Sharing the clip as part of her Mother Nature series, Kate spoke candidly about how the natural world and discovering her place within it has been key to her own journey and now wants to help others discover similar solace.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
