The news comes after Chris Richards and Ben Cremaschi earned the same honors but for the U.S men\u2019s national team. <\/p>\n<p>Lavelle earned 29.2% of the weighted total vote, while Sam Coffey (23.9%) and Catarina Macario (22.3%) finished second and third respectively in the Player of the Year voting. Reale earned 48%\u00a0of the weighted total vote for Young Female Player of the Year and was followed up by Jordyn Bugg (29.6%)\u00a0and Micayla Johnson (16.1%).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen\u00a0I look at the\u00a0past\u00a0year,\u00a0it\u00a0feels like a\u00a0testament\u00a0to the support system\u00a0I\u00a0had,\u00a0with\u00a0my family,\u00a0the\u00a0medical\u00a0staff\u00a0at Gotham\u00a0and with the National Team,\u00a0all\u00a0my teammates, coaches\u00a0and\u00a0friends,\u201d said Lavelle. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t have been in the position to even be up for the award without all of the support I\u00a0received throughout the\u00a0year\u00a0just\u00a0to get back on the\u00a0field. So,\u00a0this\u00a0award\u00a0is\u00a0definitely shared\u00a0with all the people I was lucky enough to have in my corner\u00a0along the way.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lavelle remains one of the key players in the USWNT squad as their 2026 schedule vastly approaches. The veteran midfielder returned to international play on June 26\u00a0against\u00a0the Republic of Ireland and finished the year with six international caps. In the five matches she started, Lavelle at least registered one goal contribution in each. <\/p>\n<p>At club level, Lavelle helped Gotham FC win the 2025 NWSL Championship, scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 finals victory over the Washington Spirit. She earned MVP honors that day, adding another trophy to her growing cabinet. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m\u00a0really happy\u00a0for Rose, who is thriving.\u00a0She\u2019s\u00a0an extremely selfless person who has been through a lot of\u00a0adversity,\u201dsaid USWNT Emma Hayes. \u201cI think we all\u00a0know that Rose is not only one of the best players in the world, but also one of the most fun to watch, and to coach, so\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0very satisfying to see her recognized in this way. As far as Lilly, it was a heck of a start to her pro career, but it\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0without adversity as well.\u00a0She\u2019s\u00a0a mentally and physically strong young player and a great teammate, so we are looking forward to watching her continue grow into her roles for club and country.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reale enjoyed a productive rookie season with Gotham FC, which later led to her first USWNT call-up in June. She featured in all 26 NWSL regular season matches, as well as each three of Gotham\u2019s postseason matches. Reale was later named the\u00a0NWSL Rookie of the Year after registering\u00a02,217 minutes\u00a0in 29 combined appearances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am constantly reminded of how special this National Team program is when I reflect on all of the relationships, knowledge, laughs and opportunities that U.S. Soccer has given me over the years,\u201d said Reale. \u201cIt was this environment where I first learned what it truly took to reach the next level and just how different each person\u2019s journey will look. This year in particular has been one marked by major growth moments, joy and lots of lessons. Through it all, I feel so lucky to have been surrounded by such charismatic teammates, coaches and fans. Being able to play alongside many of my role models and represent my country at the highest level is something that I\u2019ll never take for granted.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking back on all the incredible players that have won this award in past years only serves as added motivation for me to strive to\u00a0follow in their footsteps. Thank you to everyone who has guided me on this journey, your support really means the world!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reale started 2025 by\u00a0attending\u00a0the USWNT Futures Camp in January and then\u00a0was called up to the\u00a0Under-23 training camp in April. She scored her first goal for the team in a 2-1 victory over Germany. <\/p>\n<p>Her international debut with the USWNT camp on June 26 against Ireland where she produced her first senior assist.
