{"id":884875,"date":"2026-01-14T06:11:58","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T12:11:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/14\/muse-signs-agreement-for-redevelopment-of-stevenage-station-area\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T06:11:58","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T12:11:58","slug":"muse-signs-agreement-for-redevelopment-of-stevenage-station-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/14\/muse-signs-agreement-for-redevelopment-of-stevenage-station-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Muse signs agreement for redevelopment of Stevenage station area"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ca.emap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2026\/01\/0f099d97-04fc-4fe1-8754-4437d76d519d_1024x683_144dpi.webp\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  alt=\"0f099d97-04fc-4fe1-8754-4437d76d519d_1024x683_144dpi.webp\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Morgan Sindall\u2019s regeneration arm Muse has signed a development agreement to deliver the next phase of Stevenage\u2019s\u00a0 town centre regeneration, a major overhaul of the station and surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p>Stevenage Borough Council has appointed Muse to lead the Station Gateway project, supported by the English Cities Fund (ECF), a partnership between Muse, Homes England and Legal &#038; General.<\/p>\n<p>The plans include at least 1,000 homes, upgraded station facilities, and 50,000 square metres of development, including commercial and community space.<\/p>\n<p>The project was procured through Pagabo\u2019s Developer Led Framework, which is managed on behalf of Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust.<\/p>\n<p>ECF\u2019s involvement builds on previous public investment in the area, including \u00a36m from the government\u2019s Towns Fund to support the development of a new multi-storey station car park.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme is being backed by the Stevenage Development Board, which has supported the project since 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The next phase will see a detailed masterplan drawn up, ahead of a public consultation expected in the first half of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Subject to government grant funding, construction could begin in 2028 with the first homes completed in 2030.<\/p>\n<p>The development will feature a landscaped street connecting the town centre with the station and Stevenage Leisure Park. The architect has not yet been named.<\/p>\n<p>Muse development director Chris Scott said the team would \u201ccollaborate with the people and businesses of Stevenage\u201d to shape the next phase.
