Image Credit: LA Thieves\/Team WaR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"is-nium-replacing-kenny\">Is Nium Replacing Kenny?<\/h2>\n<p>Nium has been recognized as one of the stronger players on the <strong>Huntsmen<\/strong> and, according to several around the scene, has been identified as one of the more \u201cpro-ready\u201d players in Challengers.<\/p>\n<p>However, we don\u2019t believe that he will be immediately slotted into the starting roster. Instead, he will be utilized as a substitute \u2013 similar to Alluka on FaZe \u2013 giving Thieves the opportunity to use him as they see fit.<\/p>\n<p><span>How this impacts\u00a0<strong>OpTic Texas<\/strong>-owned Challengers team,\u00a0Huntsmen<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0is unclear.<\/span> If he is just a substitute for LA Thieves, it may make him eligible to continue playing for them in Challengers, while being available to Thieves if they choose to make a roster change.<\/p>\n<p>If he is off the team, <strong>OpTic CEO Hector \u201cHECZ\u201d Rodriguez<\/strong> has made it clear that he wants the team to focus on developing talent, not former pros. Exceed has had stints in the league in the past with <strong>Minnesota Rokkr<\/strong> and <strong>LA Guerrillas<\/strong>, but struggled to truly make his mark on the pro level.<\/p>\n<p>However, a last-minute call from the LA Thieves camp put a stopper on those plans. According to our sources, although Nium had signed his contract with the Ravens, OpTic had not yet approved the loan agreement that was put in place when Thieves reached out.<\/p>\n<p>Once Thieves made contact with Nium, it became clear that LA was his preference over a loan move to Carolina. Per sources, OpTic didn\u2019t sign the agreement as a result.
