No wonder Jerry thinks it\u2019s time to evaluate their defensive strategy, because the quarterback, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.essentiallysports.com\/tag\/dak-prescott\/?utm_medium=website&#038;utm_source=website_internal&#038;utm_campaign=web_link_2\" target=\"_self\"><strong>Dak Prescott,<\/strong><\/a> could only carry them this far in the season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-athlete=\"false\"><span>However, Eberflus marks Dallas\u2019s third defensive coordinator in three years, and that rapid turnover has Jerry rethinking his own choices about pulling the trigger so fast in the past. The Chargers offense ran all over the Cowboys defense with over 450 yards in the game, turning what should have been a winnable matchup into a total rout.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-athlete=\"false\"><span>Quarterback <strong>Justin Herbert<\/strong> had a season-high 79.3% completion rate and a 132.8 passer rating that picked apart Dallas from start to finish. And the Chargers QB, leading the league in sacks and fourth in interceptions, had none today. Zero.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-athlete=\"false\"><span>But while the defense struggled, the Cowboys\u2019 offense again had to drag them with 17 points in the game, yet even that wasn\u2019t enough to overcome the meltdown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=essentiallysports.com\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Jerry Jones says blame falls on us all<\/h2>\n<p data-athlete=\"false\"><span>Prescott and the Cowboys offense have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.essentiallysports.com\/nfl-active-news-cowboys-dallas-cowboys-announce-news-on-dak-prescott-ceedee-lamb-george-pickens-mid-game-vs-chargers\/?utm_medium=website&#038;utm_source=website_internal&#038;utm_campaign=web_link_2\" target=\"_self\">setting records on fire<\/a> all season long, carrying the load for a struggling defense. The offense ranks number one in the league in total yards. And Prescott leads the league in pass attempts and completions. But the Chargers\u2019 defense ranks 2nd in the league, and we saw why.
