{"id":883621,"date":"2026-01-09T05:19:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T11:19:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/09\/womens-college-basketball-2025-2026-undefeated-teams-tracker-vandy-sustains-historic-start\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T05:19:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T11:19:13","slug":"womens-college-basketball-2025-2026-undefeated-teams-tracker-vandy-sustains-historic-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/09\/womens-college-basketball-2025-2026-undefeated-teams-tracker-vandy-sustains-historic-start\/","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s College Basketball 2025-2026 Undefeated Teams Tracker: Vandy Sustains Historic Start"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Basketball <\/p>\n<div data-v-746446fd>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>With conference play upon us, it&#8217;s fair to start wondering which of the undefeated women&#8217;s college basketball teams might actually be able to stay that way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>Here are the four teams that have yet to log an L in 2025-2026, as well as some notable opponents that they have already taken care of and those still on the way, through Jan. 7.<\/p>\n<h2>Basketball No. 2 Texas, SEC, 17-0<\/h2>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/texas-longhorns-team\">Texas<\/a> has already defeated ranked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/ucla-bruins-team\">UCLA<\/a>, South Carolina, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/north-carolina-tar-heels-team\">UNC<\/a>, Baylor and Ole Miss \u2013 albeit narrowly in the last instance \u2013 \u00a0so there aren&#8217;t any questions about whether this is an impressive undefeated run or not. The Longhorns&#8217; schedule isn&#8217;t going to get any easier in conference play, however, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/lsu-tigers-team\">LSU<\/a>, South Carolina again and Oklahoma just in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>Basketball No. 17 Texas Tech, Big 12, 17-0<\/h2>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/texas-tech-lady-raiders-team\">Texas Tech<\/a> added a second Quad 1 win to its resume with a win over West Virginia on Wednesday. The Lady Raiders also beat No. 21 Baylor on Dec. 21. They have Kansas State and No. 10 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/iowa-state-cyclones-team\">Iowa State<\/a> looming before January ends.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Basketball No. 1 UConn, Big East, 16-0<\/h2>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/connecticut-huskies-team\">UConn<\/a> has had the most difficult schedule of any of the undefeated teams to this point, with the NCAA Evaluation Tool, or NET, plopping them at the 4th-toughest schedule out of 363 teams. The Huskies have faced four Quad 1 opponents and five Quad 2s, and have more to come with Villanova (35th in NET), Notre Dame and Seton Hall again before January ends.<\/p>\n<h2>Basketball No. 7 Vanderbilt, SEC, 16-0<\/h2>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/vanderbilt-commodores-team\">Vanderbilt<\/a> is off to its best start in program history, as it had twice before started seasons 13-0, but never better than that. The one concern was that the Commodores had not played a single Quad 1 game yet, but with conference season open they took on No. 5 LSU \u2013 undefeated itself until Thursday&#8217;s loss to No. 11 Kentucky, its own first test of the year \u2013 and came away with a W while handing the Tigers their second loss in a row.<\/p>\n<h2>Basketball Winless Teams<\/h2>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>There are also teams <i>without<\/i> any wins to consider. Below, you will find updates on which schools have yet to pick up a dub in the 2025-2026 season, with notes made for those that <i>have<\/i> won a game, but only against Non-Division I competition.<\/p>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>Here are the 14 teams still looking for that first D-I W of the season.<\/p>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>New Orleans, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/southland\">Southland<\/a>, 0-12 (0-1 against Division II)<\/p>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>Prairie View, SWAC, 0-11 (2-0 against Division II)<\/p>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>Louisiana, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com\/womens-college-basketball\/sun-belt\">Sun Belt<\/a>, 0-12 (1-1 against Division II)<\/p>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>Florida A&#038;M, SWAC, 0-11 (1-0 against Division II)<\/p>\n<p use-external-image=\"false\" data-v-746446fd>Saint
