{"id":883143,"date":"2026-01-07T05:21:52","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T11:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/07\/faith-and-family-land-among-americans-top-new-years-resolutions-for-2026\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T05:21:52","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T11:21:52","slug":"faith-and-family-land-among-americans-top-new-years-resolutions-for-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/07\/faith-and-family-land-among-americans-top-new-years-resolutions-for-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Faith and Family Land Among Americans\u2019 Top New Year\u2019s Resolutions for 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Americans&#8217; 2026 resolutions reveal a familiar desire for exercise and financial health, but also a notable resurgence in prioritizing faith and family, especially among younger adults.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Americans\u2019 resolutions for 2026 include familiar goals such as exercising more and saving money, but also a renewed focus on faith and family, according to a survey.<\/p>\n<p>The YouGov poll found that roughly one-third (31 percent) of U.S. adults say they will make a New Year\u2019s resolution, with those under 45 about two times more likely than older Americans to say they will set a goal (43 percent vs. 21 percent).<\/p>\n<div id=\"pelcro-embedded-paywall\">\n<p>The most popular resolution among Americans is exercising more (25 percent), followed by being happy (23 percent), eating healthier (22 percent), saving more money (21 percent), and improving physical health (21 percent). Other popular resolutions include losing weight (17 percent), which finished sixth, and improving mental health (16 percent).<\/p>\n<p>But two goals related to faith and family tied for eighth place. \u201cPraying more\u201d and \u201cspending more time with family\u201d were chosen by 15 percent of Americans, as were \u201clearning something new\u201d and reading more.<\/p>\n<p>The list of 25 resolutions included several other goals tied to faith and family. For example, \u201cimproving relationships with friends or family\u201d was selected by 13 percent of Americans, ranking No. 12, while \u201cfocusing on spiritual matters\u201d drew 9 percent, placing No. 18.<\/p>\n<p>The only goal on the list related to political matters \u2013 \u201cgetting more involved politically\u201d \u2013 landed in last place (4 percent).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year, the most popular resolution was saving more money, with 26 percent who were resolving to do this,\u201d YouGov said in an analysis, adding that \u201c22 percent said they were resolving to exercise more last year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With signs of spiritual renewal already emerging among young people in America, the YouGov poll may offer supporting evidence. The survey found that younger adults were more likely than older Americans to choose resolutions related to faith. For example, 15 percent of adults ages 18\u201329 said they want to pray more, compared to 13 percent of those ages 45\u201364.
