The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday that 14 terrorists were killed in three separate intelligence-based operations (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan..<\/p>\n

In a statement, the military\u2019s media wing said nine khawarij<\/em> belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij<\/em> were killed on Friday.<\/p>\n

Fitna al Khawarij<\/em> is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).<\/p>\n

It said an IBO was conducted in Tank on the reported presence of terrorists. \u201cDuring the conduct of [the] operation, own troops effectively engaged the khawarij<\/em> location, and after an intense fire exchange, seven khawarij<\/em> were sent to hell,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

In a separate IBO conducted in Lakki Marwat, \u201ctwo more khawarij<\/em> were effectively neutralised by security forces\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cSanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored kharji<\/em> found in the area,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

Later in the day, the ISPR said security forces conducted an IBO in Balochistan\u2019s Dera Bugti district and killed five terrorists belonging to the Fitna al Hindustan<\/em>. The state has designated Balochistan-based groups as Fitna al-Hindustan<\/em> to highlight India\u2019s alleged role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The ISPR said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists in all three instances.<\/p>\n

According to the military\u2019s media wing, the eliminated terrorists \u201cremained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies and target killing of innocent civilians\u201d.<\/p>\n

It added that a counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-i-Istehkam would continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of \u201cforeign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for the operations. According to a statement posted by state broadcaster PTV<\/em> on X, he said that security forces were making big gains against terrorism under Azm-i-Istehkam.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nation stands with security forces against terrorism. We are determined to root out terrorism from the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

President Asif Ali Zardari commended the \u201ccourage and timely action\u201d of the security forces in \u201cthwarting the heinous intentions of the terrorists,\u201d PTV<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

He stressed that \u201cthe nation\u2019s resolve to eliminate terrorists will continue to stay intact until the menace is rooted out\u201d.<\/p>\n

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the efforts of the security forces, stating that \u201csecurity forces neutralised the militants with remarkable efficiency,\u201d the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP)<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

He also praised their professionalism, courage, and the swift action taken. He noted that the \u201ctimely operations thwarted major threats and demonstrated the exceptional skill and commitment of Pakistan\u2019s security personnel\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nation takes pride in the bravery and professionalism of its soldiers,\u201d he was quoted as saying. \u201cSecurity forces remain fully determined to restore and maintain lasting peace in KP,\u201d the minister added.<\/p>\n

Pakistan has witnessed an uptick<\/u><\/a> in terror activities, especially in KP and Balochistan, after the TTP ended<\/u><\/a> its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, security forces killed<\/a> seven terrorists in two separate operations in KP\u2019s North Waziristan district.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
