Photo by Thor Wegner DeFodi Images\/IMAGO<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/tag\/osimhen\">Victor Osimhen<\/a> has named midfielder Raphael Onyedika as Nigeria\u2019s most underrated player at the <a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/category\/afcon\">2025 Africa Cup of Nations<\/a> in Morocco, Soccernet.ng reports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/tag\/Galatasaray\">Galatasaray<\/a> striker has praised Onyedika for performances he believes have gone unnoticed despite their importance to the Super Eagles\u2019 progress.<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria sealed qualification for the Round of 16 with a commanding <a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/2025\/12\/onuachu-onyedika-super-eagles-uganda.html\">3-1 victory over Uganda<\/a> at the Fes Stadium on Tuesday night, a match in which Onyedika delivered a standout display by scoring twice in the second half.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_191808\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-191808\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/app\/uploads\/2025\/12\/imago1070745012-750x520.jpg\" alt=\"Soccer Victor Osimhen\" width=\"750\" height=\"520\"  ><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-191808\">Victor Osimhen. For me, it is beautiful to try to lead the team,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/872851672271236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reporters at the mixed zone.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I have gained some level of experience to be able to lead the team, and the coach also confides in him, as well as the players.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that the armband enhanced communication and authority on the pitch.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSo they listen to me just like I listen to them also. Photo by Thor Wegner DeFodi Images\/IMAGO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Looking ahead to the knockout phase, the 27-year-old made it clear Nigeria have no fear of any opponent.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI don&#8217;t care, anybody can come,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite closing in on Rashidi Yekini\u2019s all-time <a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/tag\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> goalscoring record, Osimhen insisted personal milestones were not driving him.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cTo be honest, I never went to bed one day and thought about trying to equal the record or trying to surpass it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am just doing what I can do for my team, fighting for them, trying to get goals and assists. Now we have progressed to the Round of 16, more bigger teams are coming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, I am not assuring anyone, the only thing I can assure is good performance, fighting for my team and making sure Super Eagles win.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He also highlighted Nigeria\u2019s attacking depth.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI think not just me, we have Paul, AKOR, Ade that can get the job done in terms of scoring for us and getting assists.
