{"id":882275,"date":"2026-01-01T02:23:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T08:23:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/01\/utah-man-charged-with-kidnapping-rape-of-13-year-old-girl\/"},"modified":"2026-01-01T02:23:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T08:23:11","slug":"utah-man-charged-with-kidnapping-rape-of-13-year-old-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/01\/utah-man-charged-with-kidnapping-rape-of-13-year-old-girl\/","title":{"rendered":"Utah Man Charged With Kidnapping, Rape of 13-Year-Old Girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>A Utah man was arrested early Monday morning for the kidnapping and rape of a 13-year-old girl.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksl.com\/article\/51419616\/31-year-old-man-allegedly-kidnapped-assaulted-teen-girl-in-taylorsville\">According to KSL<\/a>, a Taylorsville police officer pulled over Derek James Jones, 31, at about 2:30 a.m., noting he appeared to be \u201cmakin evasive maneuvers\u201d to avoid the officer, an arrest affidavit said.<\/p>\n<p>When they stopped Jones, they found the teen girl under several blankets in the backset of his vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI spoke with the female juvenile victim, who I located inside a white SUV covered in blankets,\u201d the officer wrote in the affidavit. \u201cShe stated she was scared and lost and she was just kidnapped. The juvenile appeared to be very frantic and emotional.
