by Remedy Entertainment, the studio best known for developing the Alan Wake<\/em>, Control<\/em>, and Max Payne<\/em> series, has issued<\/a> a profit warning to investors due to lower than expected sales of PvE first-person shooter, FBC: Firebreak<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n The studio has adjusted its long-term sales forecast for FBC: Firebreak<\/em>, as well as lowering its 2025 outlook.<\/span><\/p>\n “Due to weak sales of\u00a0FBC: Firebreak<\/em>, Remedy lowers its long-term sales forecast for the game,” reads the press release. “Consequently, the company recognizes a non-cash impairment of EUR 14.9 million, representing a majority of the game\u2019s capitalized development costs and allocated purchased publishing and distribution rights. The impairment has no effect on Remedy\u2019s cash position.”<\/span><\/p>\n Remedy Entertainment CEO Tero Virtala stated, “Remedy is recognizing a non-cash impairment of capitalized development costs and allocated purchased publishing and distribution rights related to\u00a0FBC: Firebreak<\/em>. While we balance future investments to the title, we continue developing and improving the game in line with our updated long-term sales forecast.”<\/span><\/p>\n FBC: Firebreak <\/em>released on June 17 for the\u00a0PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via\u00a0Steam<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Epic Games Store<\/a>, Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. <\/span>The game had surpassed one million players<\/a> in its first 10 days on the market.<\/span><\/p>\n The first major update – Breakpoint – for FBC: Firebreak <\/em>released on September 29. It “brought significant changes to the game\u2019s core experience.” This did cause improved player and sales metrics, however, it has failed to reached Remedy’s internal targets.<\/span><\/p>\n A life-long and avid gamer,\u00a0<\/em>William D’Angelo<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>was first introduced to VGChartz in 2007.
