Swedish activist Greta Thunberg said that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a \u201clegal duty to act to prevent a genocide\u201d in Gaza, according to Arab News.<\/p>\n

The remarks of Thunberg, who is currently heading to the Palestinian enclave as part of the Sumud Flotilla, came ahead of a visit by Israeli President Isaac Herzog to London on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

This visit has sparked controversy in the UK and worldwide with Labour Party<\/a> urging government ministers not to meet with Herzog during his visit to London.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe words we will use to describe people who are standing on the wrong side of history, supporting or committing war crimes, those words do not exist yet, those slurs do not exist yet, but we will be using them towards people like (Starmer),\u201d Thunberg<\/a> added.<\/p>\n

She also stated that these governments, these people in power, have a legal duty to act to prevent a genocide and to not support an apartheid regime.<\/p>\n

Starmer\u2019s office has not confirmed whether a meeting between him and the Israeli President will take place.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince day one, this government has been clear that we need to see an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages cruelly detained by Hamas, better protection of civilians, significantly more aid consistently entering Gaza, and a path to long-term peace and stability,\u201d a spokesperson\u00a0said.<\/p>\n

Greta Thunberg and Portuguese left-wing politician Mariana Mort\u00e1gua are on their own way to Gaza<\/a>, joining hundreds of people from 44 countries and carrying humanitarian aids for Gazans.<\/p>\n
