With \u201cSuperman\u201d hitting HBO Max yesterday, DC Studios co-chief James Gunn has been all over social media and has been answering a few questions on Threads<\/a> about both past and future DCU projects and more.<\/p>\n

First up, he says he already has actors in mind in terms of Batman in the DCU: \u201cI have guys I like. I have guys that are at the top of the list. One actor in particular\u2026 a pretty big star, wants to be Batman. We\u2019ve talked about it, but I don\u2019t think that\u2019s the case.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was also asked about casting Wonder Woman. More specifically, he was asked if he\u2019d cast anyone under 5\u20199 height for the role, considering that the current Superman, David Corenswet, is 6\u20194 tall. Gunn previously talked about how difficult it would be to cast someone taller in the role than Superman. Today he says:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think extreme height is the most important factor in casting WW. That\u2019s all I said earlier as well. I never said I didn\u2019t feel good about her being taller than Superman \u2013 I just said that would never be what I considered most important in her casting.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Gunn also confirmed the rumours that he was considering a \u201cPlastic Man\u201d movie in the early 2000s at Warner Bros. Pictures, with Matthew Lillard starring. Gunn confirmed it was partly true, and that he and Lillard pitched \u201cthis idea to [producer] Lorenzo DiBonaventura, and he was into it.\u201d <\/p>\n

Next, he spoke with The Ringerverse<\/a> about the \u201cSuperman\u201d follow-up \u201cMan of Tomorrow\u201d and how Nic Hoult\u2019s Lex Luthor will really get explored in the film:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019m just more interested in getting into the heart of Lex and seeing how he fits into all of this. I think getting to know more of Lex as a human being. We saw a lot about the evil part of Lex. He\u2019s pretty evil. He, as a character, is really interesting. There\u2019s something, despite everything, that is incredibly heroic about Lex.<\/p>\n

Take aside morality, which is hard to do, but here is this guy who is saying, \u2018You can hold up a building. You can shoot down planes with your eyes. F\u2014 you, I\u2019m going to kick your ass because I\u2019m better than you. I can\u2019t help but admire his tenacity and his ego. His ambition is beyond compare. He\u2019s the underdog.<\/p>\n

Yeah, sure, he\u2019s got a lot of corporate power that he can use to manipulate things, but he can\u2019t fly into outer space, lift up a building, or punch something across three states. He\u2019s a guy, and I f\u2014ing love that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Gunn adds \u201cMan of Tomorrow\u201d is \u201cmore comic booky in some ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
