Mandatory Credit: Scott Wachter-Imagn Images \/ Scott Wachter-Imagn Images<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_d91rq48vv\">Former Texas Longhorns quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/david_ash14\/status\/1968707038533562757\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">David Ash<\/a> typically flies under the radar in terms of media exposure, but he took to X on Sept. 18, to express his take on Manning\u2019s recent performances in what marked his first post on the platform since Jan. 2024. <\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_jhnwtgx3j\">He started his post with a reminder of what the redshirt sophomore has been capable of in the past.<\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_94i9wkl42\">\u201cLast year I watched<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ArchManning\"> <\/a>(Arch Manning) come off the sidelines against Miss. State and as per, get a zero pressure almost immediately,\u201d Ash <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/david_ash14\/status\/1968707038533562757\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cWith a free rusher in his face he planted his back leg, threw a blind faith high ball over 50 yards (for a TUDDY) and then took one on the chin from the oncoming blitzer. He was probably 19. That play requires intelligence, accuracy, instincts, athletic ability and most of all TOUGHNESS.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure data-mm-id=\"_b7fz12ek1\">\n<blockquote>\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>I typically keep a pretty low profile but I watched a great QB get booed off a field about 14 years ago and he left UT and went on to have a 5+ year NFL career. <\/p>\n<p>Last year I watched <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArchManning?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ArchManning<\/a> come off the sidelines against Miss. State and as per, get a zero pressure almost\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2014 David Ash (@david_ash14) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/david_ash14\/status\/1968707038533562757?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 18, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_0yu9xom17\">He followed by reiterating that highs and lows are part of the process and that the \u201cgrowth journey\u201d of being a first year starter doesn\u2019t mean Manning won\u2019t lead this team into the postseason. Ash, having started six games during his true freshman year, knows a thing or two about the pressure and the expectations associated with leading the Longhorns.<\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_fwb404ypc\">To conclude his message, the former Longhorn once again expressed his hopefulness and his belief that this team has what it takes.<\/p>\n<p data-mm-id=\"_lvf86lgec\">\u201cDon&#8217;t be the guy who feels guilty cuz you weren&#8217;t ride or die,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI will always be content with a team that is TOUGH and has INTEGRITY. Arch and co have every bit of that and I&#8217;m looking forward to the rest of the year.
