<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\nAlexander Isak is confident his form for Liverpool will improve after the international break, having adapted to life on Merseyside following his move from Newcastle United.<\/p>\n
Isak joined the Premier League champions in a British record deal worth \u00a3130m last month, following a protracted saga that saw him frozen out of the Magpies\u2019 squad after submitting a transfer request.<\/p>\n
The striker has made six appearances for Arne Slot\u2019s side in all competitions, but his only goal in Red came in a 2-1 EFL Cup win over Championship side Southampton.<\/p>\n
Isak has made four starts and played 312 minutes overall for Liverpool, getting four of his nine shots on target while underperforming his tally of 1.41 expected goals (xG).<\/p>\n
Slot\u2019s side were knocked off the top of the Premier League table following a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea before the international break, their third straight loss after going down 2-1 at Crystal Palace and 1-0 against Galatasaray.<\/p>\n
But Isak is confident both he and Liverpool will improve after the international break, having gone through a period of transition following the arrivals of seven new players. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m working hard to push myself and play my game,\u201d Isak said. \u201cThings have been a bit tougher for us. <\/p>\n
\u201cI believe that as the team improves and things start to flow better, it will also get better for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been really happy so far. I\u2019m in a city where the team has a very good relationship with the fans, which is important. It\u2019s been nice so far.\u201d<\/p>\n
Isak left Newcastle on poor terms, having accused the Magpies of breaking promises regarding his future before sitting out their first three games of the season, which they played without a recognised striker.<\/p>\n
Isak has not been in contact with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe since his departure, and he does not see any point in reflecting on the manner of his exit.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s something I don\u2019t want to dwell on now,\u201d Isak said. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t benefit anyone, neither me nor Newcastle, so let it be.\u201d<\/p>\n
